Abstract

1,256,236. Gloves. B. R. M. J. M. V. DE VILLELE. 17 Dec., 1968 [19 Dec., 1967], No. 60029/68. Heading A3V. [Also in Division B5] A glove is formed by welding together two superposed pieces of plastics material, the weld line 3 at the interdigital junctions 4, 5, 6 or 7 following a rounded path extending through an angle greater than the angle included between adjacent fingers. Preferably the rounded path extends through at least 180‹. The material, such as polyvinyl chloride, may be pressure bonded by a tool having the shape of the glove, the tool also cutting the finished glove from the superposed pieces; heat or high frequency welding may be used, in which case it is stated that a line of least resistance to tearing may be avoided by placing the weld line slightly inwards from the periphery of the glove.
