Abstract

1,255,199. Door fastenings. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd. 29 Jan., 1970 [15 March, 1969], No. 13719/69. Heading E2A. A door-check link 10 which also serves to hold the door 3 in the open position by hooking a keeper pin 13, also has an extended tail T to prevent disengagement from the door, and is spirally curved at its pivot 11 so as to allow extreme opening of the door. The hinges are not shown. The link 10 enters a hole 7 in the door jamb 6 and is biassed towards the keeper 13 by spring 16 which may be manually overcome to release the latch 12 on the link to permit full opening of the door. The door is held open by rollers 17, spring-loaded by buffers 19 to engage a slit and laterally expanded part 20 of the link.
