Abstract

1,252,777. Rope clamps. W. L. BLACKBURN. 25 Nov., 1968 [24 Nov., 1967], No. 55760/68. Addition to 1,252,566. Headings E2A and E2B. A rope-clamp for securing vessels consists of a horizontally mounted (Fig. 1) vertically mounted (Fig. 2), or obliquely mounted sliding-wedge rope gripper which is rotatably mounted by ball bearings 80 on a base 70 which has a peripheral groove 71 for receiving the rope. Ancillary winches are described (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown), and a press for securing ferrule 120, to the rope (Fig. 5, not shown).
