A spring axle-guide connecting an axle box 31 to a torsionally flexible bogie frame comprises rubber layers 33 disposed between seatings 34, 35 which have inverted vee- or truncated vee-shaped bearing surfaces so as to provide an overall hard springing which is softer longitudinally of the bogie than transversely thereof. The substantially horizontal surface of a truncated vee-shaped seating may have downwardly sloping extensions longitudinally of the bogie.
