Abstract
1,251,269. Valley tiles. REDLAND TILES Ltd. 26 May, 1970 [23 May, 1969], No. 26493/ 69. Heading E1B. A concrete valley tile 11 has along either side of its upper concave surface a mortar retaining ridge 15 and a plurality of mortar holding ribs 21. The next overlying tile up the valley is adapted to rest on projections 16 which project slightly further than a ridge 17 which acts as a barrier to wind blown water but is spaced from the tile above so that no path for capilliary flow exists. The tiles of the side surfaces meeting at the valley rest on the plane surfaces provided by ribs 14 and 15 which define a water drainage channel therebetween. (For Figure see next column)
