Abstract

1,251,171. Packages for ignition components. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd., and W. A. PASCHKE. 23 March, 1970 [3 April, 1969], No. 13910/70. Heading B8C. Ignition components for an internal-combustion engine are packaged in upper and lower removable inserts 36, 38 contained within a cylindrical container 10 having a removable upper wall 18 and a replaceable snap-fit plastics lid 30. The inserts 36, 38 have opposed depressions 40, 44 for containing sparking plugs 50 therebetween. The depressions of each insert are interconnected by integral support walls 42, 46 and the depressions 44 of the lower insert 38 have narrower lower portions 82 provided with inwardly directed ribs 85, 86 for protecting the contacts 88 of plugs 50. The upper insert 36 has a wall 64 extending between two opposed depressions to form two recesses 60, 62, one for a condenser 72 and a grease container 74, the other for a contact set 70. To remove the contents, the snap-fit lid 30 is removed and a tab 24 is pulled to remove the upper wall 18. The inserts 36, 38 may be formed of high impact polystyrene.
