Abstract
1,248,749. Printing apparatus. HEIDELBERGER DRUCKMASCHINEN A.G. 27 Nov., 1968 [30 March, 1968], No. 56315/68. Heading B6C. [Also in Divisions F2 and G3] The temperature of reciprocating forme bed 2 is controlled by feeding cooled or heated lubricant to slideway 5 through pipe 6, so that as bed 2 moves over slideway 5 lubricant on the slideway cools or heats the bed as required. Bed 2 passes first under inking rollers 3 and second under impression cylinder 4 as it moves. The lubricant is passed round a closed circuit, and is brought to a desired temperature by a cooler 7 or heat exchanger 8. A separate circulation of non-lubricating coolant through passages in the slideway base and a separate cooler or heat exchanger may supplement the cooling by the lubricant. Either the lubricant or the separate coolant may have its temperature monitored as it leaves the slideway or the slideway base, and a signal derived in consequence may be made to control the respective coolers and heat exchangers.
