Abstract

1,244,669. Pressing apparatus. NORVA MASKINFABRIK A.S. 4 Dec., 1968 [6 Dec., 1967], No. 57505/68. Heading D1A. A press for garments and the like comprises a first platen with a frame 5 carrying a pliant substantially impervious sheet 7 and a second platen 1 with a peripheral surface 8 engaged by the frame within which is a continuous groove 3 to which a vacuum may be applied. Platen 1 is heated by electric element 2 or by steam. Sheet 7 may be of silicone rubber reinforced with glass fibre and may be stretched by extensible members 6. A. felt reinforcing layer 10 may be attached to sheet 7. Alternatively, the upper platen may be platen 1 and a series of lower platens 5 may be provided for multiple working.
