Abstract
1,244,458. Sliding door track. STREATER INDUSTRIES Inc. 16 March, 1970 [17 March, 1969], No. l2522/70. Heading E1J. A two-piece sliding door track assembly comprises a track frame 23 mountable on a door sill 20, the frame 23 having longitudinal walls 25 and 26 whose smooth inner surfaces 25' and 26' merge smoothly with the smooth floor surface 24' therebetween, and a track 35 nestable in the frame 23 by means of surface portions 42', 43', 44' complementary to the frame inner surfaces 24', 25', 26', the track 35 having rail formations 40 and 41 with shallow grooves for carrying the sliding doors 15 and 16. The frame 23 may have flanges 28 and 29 for fitting over the sill 20, and may be secured thereto; the track 35 is preferably not fastened to the frame 23, so as to be easily removable for cleaning. Sash rails 50 mounted on the door edges are shaped to straddle the rails 40 and 41 in order to guide the doors, and carry nylon bearings 54 which run in the grooves.
