A hair trimming device comprises a guard member 4 arranged for mounting one or more substantially flat blades with oppositely directed cutting edges, and having series of prong-like tines 18-24 for projection beyond each cutting edge, each series having a different tine length. Separate safety razor blades 10, 12 or a single elongate blade (not shown) may be provided, and the guard member 4 may comprise two parts 6, (8), Fig. 2 (not shown), held in engagement with the blades 10, 12 by slot-headed fasteners 26, 28 or screw-threaded means (not shown), projections 31 on the part (8) locating in holes 32 in the part 6.
