Abstract

1,235,444. Brake cylinders. WESTING- HOUSE BREMSENUND APPARATEBAU G.m.b.H. 26 March, 1970 [28 April, 1969], No. No. 14801/70. Heading F2F. An air brake cylinder has a first part divided by a piston 4 into a chamber 8 containing a spring 6 and a second chamber 9 and a second part divided by a diaphragm 14 into a third chamber 17 and a fourth chamber 18, the parts being connected together as a unit but separated by a partition 3 and the piston 4 and diaphragm acting on rods 12 and 22, and the chambers 8 and 18 are interconnected by a flexible pipe 27 to allow aspiration of clean air as chamber 8 expands.
