Abstract

1,235,346. ABS graft polymers. JAPAN SYNTHETIC RUBBER CO. Ltd. 11 Dec., 1968 [12 Dec., 1967], No. 58830/68. Heading C3G. An ABS resin of high fluidity is produced by graft polymerizing from 10 to 25 parts by weight of a latex mixture (calculated as the rubber-solids portion) of polybutadiene latex and styrene-butadiene copolymer latex, in which mixture from 5 to 35% by weight of the rubber-solids portion consists of styrene-butadiene copolymer which contains not more than 50% by weight of copolymerized styrene and at least 50% by weight of which is composed of polymer particles of granule diameter above 4400 Š, with 50 to 65 parts of styrene or a substituted styrene and 20 to 30 parts of acrylonitrile or a substituted acrylonitrile.
