Abstract

1,231,038. Metallic wire for roller combs of carding engines. NAGOYA METALLIC CARD CLOTHING CO. Ltd. 28 Aug., 1968 [19 April, 1968], No. 41075/68. Heading D1W. Metallic wire for winding on the roller comb 30 of a carding engine has teeth 3 of a smooth curved configuration, the tangents to the curve at its two ends being at angles α and # of 90-150‹ and 30-90‹ respectively to the line C extending in the longitudinal direction of the metallic wire. The height of the teeth is 1-10 mm and there are 2-30 teeth per inch. Preferably, the radius of curvature (R 1 ) at the vortex is within the range 0.1-350 mm and the radii of curvature (R2 and R 3 ) at the ends of the curve each being at least 1mm. The roller comb 30 is used in the carding machine claimed in the division at Specification 1,231,039.
