Abstract

1,230,503. Brushes. S. A. RANDS. 24 June, 1969, No. 31779/69 Heading A4K. The end of a bristle of a brush comprises an enlarged globule on which is coated a bonding material and a particulate abrasive material, e.g. tungsten carbide. The coating is preferably in the form of a laminate. The bristles are preferably of thermoplastics material, e.g. nylon or metal, the ends of which are enlarged by heating. The bonding material may be an epoxy resin or metal, e.g. powdered metals preferably in the alloyed form and containing Co, Ni or Cr.
