An electrical wiring unit for use in the wiring of a building comprises an assembly of two or more lengths of plastics covered cable 11, 12, 13 having a part of the outer plastics sheath, 20 at the end of each length removed to expose predetermined end lengths of the inner conductors which are separately covered with insulation 17, 18, 19, parts of this insulation being removed to expose ends of predetermined length of the conductors which ends all extend in the same direction alongside one another, at least one of the conductor ends of one cable being electrically connected to at least one of the conductor ends of another cable-as by twisting and soldering-the aggregation of the ends being covered for protection during transport by a removable flexible sleeve 24 which may be provided with an end piece 26. Either end of the group of cables may be similarly treated.
