Abstract

1,223,897. Cooling drive installations. VOITH GETRIEBE K.G. 8 July, 1968 [8 July, 1967], No. 32547/68. Heading F4U. In a cooling system of the type in which heat is rejected at two temperature levels by respective heat exchangers, a single axial flow fan is associated with both exchangers with the lower temperature exchanger upstream and the higher temperature exchanger downstream of the fan. The higher temperature exchanger has a resistance to air flow greater than 50 mm. water. As shown, the system is applied to a diesel locomotive, the lower temperature exchanger is divided into two parts 9, 10 used to cool supercharging air, and the higher temperature exchanger is divided into two parts 12, 13 used to dissipate heat from the engine coolant.
