Abstract

1,220,752. Edge connectors. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. 20 May, 1969 [2 Aug., 1968], No. 36991/68. Heading H2E. An edge connector for printed circuit boards comprises a body 1 of insulating plastics, e.g. glass filled diallyl-phthalate, with a longitudinal slot 2 and recesses 3 to house contact elements and end pieces (Fig. 5) of resilient material, e.g. nylon, detachably secured to the ends of the connector body and adapted to be mounted on a support. Each end piece has a base 6 and an arm 7 which carries a plate-like resilient portion 9 attached thereto by means of a web portion 10, and a lip formation 11 which snaps into position on a bottom edge of the connector body when the resilient portion 9 is slid fully into an end pair of recesses 3.
