Abstract

1,217,518. Casting ingots. NIPPON KOKAN K.K. 27 Dec., 1967 [26 Dec., 1966], No. 16637/70. Divided out of 1,217,517. Heading B3F. For use in bottom pouring and casting capped steel as claimed in the parent Specification (the descriptions of the two Specifications are identical), i.e. at a reduced pressure, ingot moulds (4) are each connected by way of an aperture in a cap (5), closable by a plug (7), to a cyclone (11) for removing coarse dust, a closable valve (12), a reduced pressure reservoir (13) and a steam ejector pump (14), the pressure in the main pipe (10) of the system being regulated by a valve (27) in an air introduction line (21) and in each mould according to the rimming action, by an individual valve (29). Steam is supplied to the ejector (14) by a reducing system (16) and passes to a condenser (18).
