[Also in Division C1] Saline waters such as sea water, bitterns, and brackish waters are pretreated before distillation by plant protein, sufficient ammonia to adjust pH to at least 10 and then an acid is added to reduce the pH to 7-8. The separated precipitate is useful as an animal feed. A large number of plant protein materials are exemplified. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,119,227.
