Abstract

1,217,090. Endless tracks for vehicles. K. J. MILLS. 24 July, 1969 [31 July, 1968], No. 36484/68. Heading B7H. An endless track for encircling the wheels at each side of a push-chair or like vehicle, comprises a flexible band of rubber or synthetic material in which a groove 3 extends along the inner surface having flexible side cheeks 4, 5 which grip the tyres 6 of the aligned side wheels when the track is wrapped round them. The ends of the track may be secured together by staples. The groove 3 may be formed between continuously extending cheeks 4, 5 or the latter may be of castellated form. Alternatively, the groove may occur in a track having a generally rectangular cross-section. The ground-engaging surface may be smooth or ribbed or studded to provide a gripping surface. A laminated material composed of hard and soft layers may be used and the track may be reinforced with cords or wires embedded therein.
