In a power take-off for driving the front wheels of a tractor having auxiliary two-speed gearing comprising two pairs of constant mesh 1, 2, 3, 4 and a shiftable coupling 5, external gear teeth on the coupling are in constant mesh with an idler gear 9 which is rotatably mounted on the layshaft of the gearing and meshes with a gear 10 on a drive shaft housed in a casing 11 attached to the gear-box and connected to the front wheels. The gear 1 is integral with an input shaft, the gear 2 has a hub keyed to the layshaft, the gear 3 is integral with the layshaft, and the gear 4 is rotatably mounted on an output shaft 8. The coupling 5 is splined to a spacer 6 fixed by locking means 7 to the output shaft 8 and is slidable into engagement with the gear 1 or the gear 5. The idler gear 9 rotates on the hub of the gear 2.
