Abstract

1,215,682. Moulding apparatus. FRIGOSCANDIA CONTRACTING A.B. 28 Feb., 1969 [4 March, 1968], No. 10771/69. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F4] Spinach to be frozen into discrete particles is loaded at 12 on to an endless conveyer belt 1 which has transverse grooves 2 and which engages a freezing cylinder 5 having grooves 9 formed between rows of teeth 8 which co-operate with the belt grooves 2 to form separate spaces for the foodstuff. The frozen foodstuff is released by passage of the belt 1 over a pulley 7 and falls on to a conveyer 13. Release of the foodstuff may be aided by belts 6 which engage the bottoms of the grooves 9 over the region in which the belt and cylinder are in contact. The frozen particles may have two semi-cylindrical surfaces whose axes are perpendicular.
