Abstract

1,215,409. Electro-photographic apparatus. PHOTOSOL CORP. March 4, 1969 [July 19, 1968], No.11517/69. Heading G2H. An electro-photographic copying apparatus has a reciprocating carriage 17 having an inclined mirror 33, lamp 35, and lens 34 for linearly scanning a do-current 30 to be copied placed on a transparent panel 16 and producing an image on copy paper 29 fed past an exposure station by rollers 21, 22, 23, and 24 in synchronism with the movements of the carriage. The copy paper 29 is electrostatically charged on both sides by a corona discharge device 31 before exposure. The latent electrostatic image is developed by passage through a tank 38 containing liquid developer 38 or by a magnetic brush Fig. 6 (not shown), which supplies drytoner. The carriage 17 is reciprocated by cables (57), (58) Fig.2 (not shown) engaging motor driven pulleys (55), (56). In the case of magnetic brush development the toner may be resin which encapsulates ferromagnetic or iron particles.
