Abstract

1,213,136. Spray producers; gas scrubbers. AJEM LABORATORIES Inc. 16 Oct., 1967 [14 Oct., 1966], No. 21831/70. Divided out of 1,213,135. Headings B1R and B2F. A rotary spray-generator which produces a fan-shaped pattern of spray comprises a rotor driven by a motor 68 and rotated about a liquid supply pipe 56 closed at its upper end by a plate 58 (Fig. 2) and provided with an arcuate opening as shown in Fig. 3 so that liquid is only supplied to some of the spaces between the blades 64 of the rotor. The blades 64 are secured to plates 62 and 66. As shown in Fig. 2 the spray-generator is mounted in an annular recess to spray liquid into a gas stream passing downwardly through a conduit 12. In an embodiment of a gas scrubber three of the rotary spray-generators are positioned in the annular recess.
