Abstract
1,212,820. Capacitors. ERIE TECHNOLOGICAL PRODUCTS Inc. 23 Sept., 1969 [23 Sept., 1968], No. 46736/69. Heading H1M. A capacitor comprises a thin ceramic layer 1 forming the dielectric and bearing metal paint electrodes 4, 5 on opposite faces except for a marginal region and two outer ceramic layers 2, 3 at least 3 mils thick, metal paint terminal layers 9, 1O on ceramic layers 2, 3 contacting the electrodes through perforations in the latter and leads being soldered to the terminal layers. More than one perforation may be provided on one of the thick ceramic layers whereby the capacitance may be adjusted by removing electrode material. The outer layers may have less shrinkage during sintering than the central layer so that they are placed under compression, increasing the mechanical strength of the capacitor.
