Abstract

[Also in Division B8] In a mobile building crane (see Division B8) rotation of a tower supporting platform relative to a chassis 1 is prevented by a releasable brake 6 comprising a friction member 36 carried by a pivoted lever 35 connected by links to the chassis 1, the links being pivotally interconnected by a second lever 37 adjustably supporting a weight 38. The brake is normally engaged with the links aligned and is released by moving the lever 7 to move the links out of alignment, Fig. 5 (not shown). The connection 42, 43 of the links to the chassis 1 is adjustable for varying the brake force.
