The voltage of a generator G is automatically controlled by the circuit shown in which a transistor T3 is cycled on and off, to control the current through the generator field winding M, in accordance with the generator output voltage which is applied to a comparator VO whose output is applied to the circuit comprising transistors T1, T2 and resistors R1 - R4. The member VO may include a Zener diode.
