Mineral vegetable and synthetic lubricating oils and gasolines are stabilized by a compound of Formula I wherein R is alkyl or alkenyl containing at least 7 carbon atoms or by an anti-oxidant composition which may contain in addition to compounds of Formula I above other stabilizers such as phenols and diphenylamines (many examples given).
