Abstract

1,203,704. Container closures; stoppers for non-refillable bottles. ANGELO GUALA DI PIERGIACOMO E ROBERTO GUALA & C.S.A.S. 22 Nov., 1968 [6 Dec., 1967], No. 55554/68. Headings B8D and B8T. A tamperproof bottle closure has a rigid plastics retaining sleeve 13 and a flexible plastics member 5 of which a part 5b is locked into a groove 4 on the bottle neck by means of the sleeve 13, the part 5b being connected to a stopper part 5a by an annular tear-strip 6. A plastics cap 15 is a force-fit over annular projections 11 on the part 5a. A pouring spout (19) may be held on the bottle neck by engaging with the part 5b, Figs. 4-5 (not shown). As shown in Fig. 6, a pouring spout 25, similarly held by the part 5b, has an inner wall 23<SP>1</SP> overlapping an upper wall 33 of a valved insert 30 forming a non-refillable bottle stopper. A flange 35 on the insert forms a seat for a valve member 37 guided by ribs 38. A closed wall 26 is joined to the wall 23<SP>1</SP> by radial ribs 28 so providing: flow passages 29.
