Abstract

1,203,690. Hot cupboards; cold cabinets. SMITH & WELLSTOOD Ltd. 23 June, 1969 [4 July, 1968; 22 Nov., 1968], Nos. 32030/68 and 55639/68. Headings F4M and F4W. A food serving cabinet comprises a cupboard having its base 3 spaced from the base of the cabinet, food containers 7 suspended above the cupboard, a hollow partition 10 extending through the cupboard intermediate of its ends, and heat exchange means below the cupboard so that air passes from the heat exchange means up the hollow partition to the space below the suspended food containers. The heat exchange means may be a burner 19, separate burners 17 delivering into conduits 13 on either side of the partition 10 heating the cupboard, or steam or refrigerating coils below the cupboard may be swept by air circulated by a fan at either end of the cabinet. Return passages for the air may be formed at the ends of the cabinet.
