Abstract

1,203,331. Sliding sashless windows. H. & A. SUPPLY CO. Ltd. 3 Jan., 1968 [4 Jan., l967], No. 385/68. Heading E1J. A stile or member for mounting on one of the meeting edges of two slidable glass panes 19, 20 in a window to prevent the panes contacting each other, comprises a rigid P.V.C. member of U-shaped section and provided with a longitudinally extending resilient sealing member 75 preferably also of resilient P.V.C., extending on and integral with a selected leg of the U-section, so that the strip may be extruded in one operation employing suitable P.V.C. mixtures for the different parts extruded from multiple heads in known manner. The U-section may have rearwardly facing barbs 73. The U-section may have a boxed base or web portion and be recessed as shown. The invention is described as included in a sliding window in which the main frame is. constituted by inner and outer aluminium members, secured together by a heat insulating bridge (185 Fig. 2) in a double sliding window. Drainage water is directed along web (42 Fig. 2) through hole in fastener (146) along portion (153) and out through other drainage hole and down web (26) of sill and out.
