Abstract

1,201,282. Electric fence posts. P. ROGERS [trading as A.E.C. ELECTRIC FENCING], 13 May, 1969 [28 March, 1968], No. 14888/68. Heading E1B. [Also in Divisions H2 and H3] A power supply unit for an electric fence comprises two boxes 5, 6, superimposed one above the other, carried on an upright member 2 which is provided with a plurality of spaced prongs 4 for insertion into the ground, the lower box 5 housing the battery which supplies the pulse generator components housed in the upper box 6. The pulse generator comprises a capacitor C which is charged from a battery by way of a diode rectifier D and an oscillator which include a transformer T1 and a transistor Tr. When the voltage across the capacitor C reaches a predetermined value a gas discharge tube GD breaks down whereupon the capacitor C discharges into an auto-transformer T2 so producing a pulse on a conductor 9 which is fed to the fence. The upper box 6 is provided with a switch 12, an indicating lamp 13 and a carrying handle 14.
