Abstract

1,200,133. Shovelling machines. PRIESTMAN BROS. Ltd. 4 March, 1969 [17 April, 1968], No. 18149/68. Heading E1F. In a shovelling machine having a forwardly facing bucket 16 pivoted on the free end of an arm rockable by a hydraulic ram 16 about the pivotal connection 12 between the arm and a luffable boom 5, the bucket 14 is pivotally connected to a link 26 that is pivoted at 24 to one end of a swing link 22 pivoted at 23 between its ends to the arm 13 and pivotally connected at 21 to a ram 19 pivoted at 20 on the boom. This ram-linkage arrangement 19, 22, 26 is so dimensioned as to permit of a suitable tilt control of the bucket as the boom and arm are luffed and-pivoted during use of the machine. Co-operating stops are provided on the links for limiting pivotal movement of the bucket with respect to the arm. Preferably the boom 5 is mounted on a rotatable superstructure 4 carried by the vehicular part of the machine.
