Apparatus for tipping a bailing container or bath tub comprises, Fig. 1, a vessel 1 pivoted at 6 to a stand 7 with a cover 10. A rack or cage for goods or boxes 18, 19 has upper members 16 which are supported by carrier members 9 projecting from the framework 9. To load the vessel it is allowed to tip down to the chain line position in which the rack can be inserted horizontally over the top edge while retaining a proportion of the water contents in the vessel and then an hydraulic ram 15 restores the vessel to its horizontal position. In Fig. 5 a boiling pan 31 with a steam jacket 32 has carrier members 40 for a rack mounted on a shaft 39 and maintained horizontal during tipping of the pan by a linkage 41, 43 rigidly secured to the shaft 39. Heating may also be by electrical heaters. Other constructions are illustrated and a bath tub may be substituted for a boiling pan and a patient may be slid in on a carrier while it is tipped. The apparatus may be mounted on wheels and may be used in conjunction with a wheeled loading trolley. Roller ways may be provided on the trolley and rack floor while the ram may be operated by connection to a water tap.
