Abstract

1,197,669. Brakes. DR. ING. H. C. F. PORSCHE K.G. 9 Sept., 1968 [9 Sept., 1967], No. 42776/68. Heading F2E. A brake disc is formed of a body member 1 (Fig. 1) and cover-plate 2 soldered together during assembly with air slots between them, produced by radial webs 5 on the body 1. The solder may be initially applied to the surface 8 of the webs 5, or to the surface 11 of the cover 2, or located in recesses in the cover 2 which mate with the webs 5 on assembly. Bonding is effected by subsequently melting the solder, or by electron beam welding. The body and cover are made of aluminium alloy, and the outer surfaces 4, 10 form the braking surfaces. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,152,100.
