Abstract

1,196,113. Chimney dampers. R. E. A. JENNINGS. 19 July, 1967 [21 July, 1966], No. 32787/66. Heading F4W. A damper assembly attached by a pipe 6 to a stove chimney comprises a housing 9 with a front cover 10 through which extends a short pipe 12 associated with a grill 11, a semicircular flap valve 13 controlled manually by handle 15, and a pivoted flap valve 18 blown against the angled inner end of the pipe 12 by pressure in the chimney when the stove is in operation. The equipment is disposed in and opens into the wall of a room containing the stove, so that warm air from the room may enter the chimney through valve 18 when the stove is idle.
