Abstract

1,194,360. Mattresses &c. PRICE BROS. & CO. Ltd. 16 Dec., 1968 [15 Dec., 1967], No. 57115/67. Heading A4M. A mattress or cushion includes a foamed core layer 1 or layers 8 disposed between upper and lower covering layers, each core layer 1 or 8 being provided with a plurality of through holes 2 or 10 at least some of which contain a coil spring 4 or 11. In one embodiment, Fig. 2, each upper and lower layer includes a high density foam layer 5, a lower density foam layer 6 and a cotton or felt surface filling and/or a quilted cover 7. In another embodiment, Fig. 3, two core layers 8 are separated by a high density foam layer 9. Alternatively the layers 5, 6 or 9 may be of hessian.
