Abstract

1,193,571. Hydraulic seals. KAWASAKI JUKOGYO K.K. 13 May, 1968, No. 22597/68. Heading F2V. An hydraulic non-return device for a gas duct has a water-containing chamber 11 with a gas inlet 3 and a gas outlet 3<SP>1</SP>. A tube 10 has a fluid-tight movable connection 13 with the inlet and is connected to floats 12 which maintain the bottom of the tube 10 at a constant distance below the water level outside the tube as the latter varies with the gas pressure. Breakwaters 14 shield the floats from the action of bubbles passing through the water. Water seal 13 may be replaced by a rubber expansion pipe or metallic bellows.
