Abstract

1,186,674. Endless conveyers. RICHARD SITTCLIFFE ENG. SYSTEMS L t d. 28 July, 1967 [29 April, 1966; 16 June, 1966; 2 Dec., 1966], Nos. 18967/66, 26871/66 and 54003/66. Heading IBSA. [Also in Division E2] A framework for supporting an idler roller assembly .11 of an endless conveyer comprises two arch portions 3 provided with feet members 9 welded at their free ends to form a generally rectangular periphery, Fig. 2. A series of the frameworks are normally bolted together but spring clips (see Division E2) may be used. The assembly 11 has a base 12 secured to roof portions 5 of the arches 3 and a return roller 27 is provided on legs 6 of the arches. A framework 2 carries a self-troughing -roller assembly as described in Specification 920,949. In a modification, Figs. 7-9 (not shown), tubular members (7, 8) forming the arches (3) may be of high tensile steel to -permit the roof portions (5) to cant resiliently towards each other to accommodate increased troughing. In a further modification, Figs. 17, 18 (not shown), the joints for the two-part framework are provided by spigots and sockets (114,115) in the roof portions of the arches. In place of cross-pieces 4 of adjacent frameworks, a common cross-piece (133) connected by T-brackets (130) to the arches (3) may be used, Figs. 19, 20 (not.shown). The frameworks may be suspended from an overhead surface.
