Abstract

1,186,250. Making photographic prints. BREMSON INTERNATIONAL Inc. Dec.18, 1967 [Dec.27, 1966], No.57374/67. Heading G2A. A photographic print 41 contains an image 38 (formed by projection), the same image 39 on a smaller scale (also formed by projection), and an image 40 formed by contact printing. The image 40 may be of informational or advertising matter. The print is made in the printer of Fig. 1 (not shown), the web of photographic material being progressed from a supply roll (4) to a take-up roll (5). First the web passes a contact-printing stage, where the image from an appropriate negative is printed on to one corner of the web through an opening 30 in a mask 29. Then the web passes a projection-printing stage where the image from an appropriate negative is projected through a cluster lens Fig. 2 (not shown) comprising two lenses of different focal lengths and supported at different points between the web and the negative. The same image is thus projected simultaneously in two different sizes, framed by apertures 26 and 27 in another mask 24. Thus all three images appear on the final print as in Fig. 5.
