[Also in Division F4] In an aquarium lighting system the light source, which may consist of fluorescent lamps 22, 23, is supported by a cover which extends over at least a part of the top of the aquarium and is assembled from a plurality of elongated sections 1, 2, 6 by slidably engaging beadings 7, 8, 9 with longitudinal recesses 3, 4, 10. Side flaps 16, 17 for feeding or inserting fish may be pivotally connected to the cover by engaging headings 14, 15 with longitudinal recesses 12, 13 having slots of sufficient angular width to permit the required pivotal movement. Control gear for the lamps may be housed in an enclosed chamber formed by the cover section 1, an integral depending web 5 and an angle section 6. The sections are made of extruded aluminium or plastics and may be polished on the inside to form reflective surfaces. The cover may be slidable on rails provided at two opposite sides of the rim of the aquarium so that it can be positioned where required to give localized illumination.
