Abstract
118,513. McKenzie, Holland, & Westinghouse Power Signal Co., (Union Switch & Signal Co.). Nov. 7, 1917. Electrical systems, automatic. - Signalling-current is supplied to the track rails and track relays through a condenser and an inductance in series, the inductance having an iron core which is magnetically saturated by t h e normal current in the track rails. The condenser K may be arranged directly in the supply circuit or in the secondary circuit of a transformer M as shown in Fig. 3. The arrangement is such as to provide for a constant current in the track relay although the resistance between the track rails 1, 1<a> varies from time to time, since the impedance of the inductance coil I decreases as the current through it increases.
