Abstract

1,184,712. Rail transport systems. BORGS FABRIKS A.B. 10 March, 1967 [22 March, 1966], No. 11399/67. Heading B7L. [Also in Division E1] A rail track comprising two parallel rails 1, 1; 7, 7; 18, 19 or 20, 21; for cars having wheels which run on their sides along the rails and which are rotatable on axles perpendicular to the plane of the track, is provided with auxiliary rails 3, 4; 10; 24, 25 between the two parallel rails so as to permit turning of the car about an axis or axes perpendicular to the track. In Fig. 2, the rails 3, 4 are fixed; the track rails 1, 1 may be terminated (dotted). In Fig. 4, the rails 10 are fixed but spring-loaded levers 15 are pivoted at 16 and are operated by the car wheels to turn the car automatically. A conveyor chain 12 runs in a channel 14, and a guide rail 11 is provided. In Fig. 7, the rails 24, 25 are pivoted at 26, 27 and are rotated by the car wheels to turn the car. A guide rail 23 is provided.
