A discharge valve for a pressurized aerosol dispensing container comprises a spring-loaded valve member 11 with a hollow valve stem 6 and a radial port 20 controlled by a gasket 4, axial grooves 18 being provided in the valve stem, such that in the propellant filling position of the valve, as shown, the grooves communicate with the upper surface of gasket 4, which is bent downwardly by the filling pressure to admit the propellant to the container via the valve housing 8 and dip tube 7. Ribs 12 in the valve housing limit the downward movement of the valve member.
