Abstract
1,181,667. Sliding doors. E. HILL ALDAM & CO. Ltd. 4 Aug., 1967 [13 July, 1966], No. 31514/66. Heading E2M. Closing means for a sliding door comprises a spring-biased arm 26 adapted to be carried by the door 2, or mounted on the door lintel 9, and cooperating with a ramp 10 mounted on that one of the door and door lintel to which the arm is not secured. The arm 26 is mounted on a plate 22 for pivotal movement about a pin 24 and may be in the form of a bell-crank lever having a bearing-mounted roller 28 at the outer end of its longer arm. An hydraulic dashpot 30 is mounted at one of its ends on the plate 22 by means of a pivot pin 32 and has its other end connected to a spacer 33 which is secured to the arm 26 by a bolt. A pin 36 extends through the bores (35) in the parts (25) (Fig. 5, not shown) and (27) (Fig. 4, not shown), clamping them together and providing a connection position on the arm for one end of each of a plurality of tension springs 38, of which the other ends are connected to a portion 40 extending from the plate.
