Abstract

A hank winding machine has at least two . hank winding reels 1 and 2 mounted on a frame F pivoted about an axis P such that the frame F can move an empty reel 2 into a hank winding location and at the same time move a full reel 1 to a reel-removing location is characterised in that there is swingable means 3 for causing a detachable yarn-fastening member 20 to snap onto one of the reel bars of the empty reel 2 in a manner clamping the yarn 16 extending from the full reel 1 onto said one reel bar of the empty reel 2, the swingable means 3 including a card-like member 4 capable of tangling with the yarn between the two reels. A yarn cutter 7 is carried by the bars 3. The yarn-fastening member 20 may be of resilient plastics material and is carried in a fork 6 resiliently mounted by means of slidable stem 12 and spring 11 on the arms 3.
