Abstract

1,179,469. Hydraulic control systems. KRACHT PUMPEN-UND M OTORENFABRIK K.G. March 10, 1967 [March 17, 1966], No. 11260/67. Heading F1P. The operation of an hydraulic actuator 2 is controlled by a main valve 22 itself controlled by a remotely positioned pilot valve 42 connected to the main valve by pilot lines 8, 10 which are selectively pressurized by operation of the pilot valve to cause corresponding actuation of the main valve, the pilot line not pressurize acting as the return line for hydraulic fluid returning from the actuator 2, whereby the pilot lines are flushed during operation. In the position of the pilot valve 42 shown, the pilot lines 8, 10 are connected to a return line 16. Actuation of the pilot valve 42 pressurizes one or other of the lines 8, 10 from a pressure main 12. Assuming the line 8 is pressurized, the main valve 22 moves to its position 1 in which pressure fluid from the line 12 flows to one side of the actuator through a line 6 to cause operation in one direction. Fluid displaced from the other side flows through lines 4, 10 to the pilot valve 42 where it is directed through a volume meter 53 before entering the return line 16. The meter 53 has an associated indicator 55 which provides an indication of the position of the actuator 2. The main valve 22 may be manually operated and may be provided with means for indicating the actuator's position, Fig. 3 (not shown).
