Abstract

1,179,101. Shower installation. BARKING BRASSWARE CO. Ltd. 15 Feb., 1967 [16 Nov., 1965], No. 48607/65. Heading A4N. A domestic shower installation incorporates a pump in the water supply to the shower fitting to increase to a required value the pressure of the hot or cold water deliveries, or both, and means for bringing the pump into operation when a predetermined water delivery rate is reached. The pump may be operated by an electric motor which is controlled by a switch responsive to the pressure or flow of water. The pump 6 is operated by an electric motor (8) (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) controlled by a switch having a float 12, enclosing a magnet 13, which rests in a restricted part of the pipe 14 adjoining a mixing chamber 3 which is supplied with hot and cold water by taps 16 and 17 such that the float is displaced by the initial flow of water, and reed switch 7 outside the water supply path. The switch may control a relay which in turn controls the motor or, preferably, a thermal delay relay is used to operate the relay controlling the motor.
