A valve has a conical closure member 6 rotatable by lever 18 about axis 7 to move opening 9 from the closed position shown to a position in alignment with outlet 2. Member 6 is provided with a conical seal 11 which can be unseated by movement of lever 18 in the direction of arrow 20.
