Abstract

[Also in Division E1] In a longwall mining installation in which a plough is guided along the length of the face by an anchored guide, means are associated with the plough for permitting of adjustment of the cutting horizon of the plough. Preferably the plough slides along and is pivotal about a tube 14 secured to the face side of a staked down conveyer 17 as well as sliding along a vertically adjustable rail 22 positioned above the goaf side of the conveyer which is supported on forwardly and downwardly extending skids 26. The skids are secured to the underside of the conveyer troughing to project from the goaf side thereof to carry the rail 22 and staker props 27.
